Megaformer Pilates Machines
Megaformer Pilates Machines
A Megaformer is the machine Lagree training runs on: slower tempo, heavier loads and constant tension, low impact but not low effort. This collection holds the three Lagree-style machines we carry, from a full-size studio build to a compact frame for smaller rooms, all new and from an authorized dealer.
How to choose a Lagree machine
The Core Collab Megaformer Premium is the full-size option, sold for home and gym, and the closest thing here to what boutique Lagree studios run. The Sculptformer Dimi, also by Core Collab, compresses the format for rooms that cannot take a full-length machine. The Pilates ProWorks FitFormer 2.0 Home Edition is the entry into the style, a home-rated build from a studio brand.
Honest fit: Lagree rewards people who already train and want intensity without joint impact. If you are starting from zero, a classical machine from Pilates reformers is usually the better first buy, and we will say so when you ask. If the machine is going onto a commercial floor, check studio-grade equipment before deciding.
What separates these machines
Footprint first: Megaformer-style machines run longer than most reformers, so measure the room before you compare anything else; the Dimi exists precisely for that constraint. Then resistance range: more spring range means the machine keeps up as you get stronger. Then duty: daily group classes need commercial build, occasional home sessions do not.
Warranty and delivery
Core Collab covers both of its machines with a 10-year warranty and a 21-day home trial, so you can run real workouts before the purchase is final. Pilates ProWorks covers the FitFormer's metal frame with a 1-year limited warranty. Free curbside freight within the continental US; terms in the warranty and returns policy.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a reformer and a Megaformer?
A reformer is built for classical Pilates: lighter spring loads, a shorter carriage, and work that emphasizes control, alignment and mobility. A Megaformer is built for Lagree: heavier resistance, a longer carriage with more hand and foot positions, and slow, loaded movements held under constant tension. One serves the classical method, the other strength-endurance training; plenty of people run both.
What is a Lagree machine?
The equipment the Lagree method is performed on, the Megaformer being the best-known design. The machines in this collection are built for that format: long carriage, heavy springs and stations for slow, controlled full-body work rather than classical Pilates sequencing.
Can a beginner start on a Megaformer?
You can, the springs scale down, but the format assumes a baseline of strength and the learning curve is steeper than on a classical reformer. Total beginners usually progress faster starting with reformer work and moving to Lagree once the basics hold.
Is a Megaformer too big for a home?
The full-size machines often are, which is exactly why the Sculptformer Dimi exists. Measure your room against the dimensions on each product page; for the rest of a home setup, see home studios.
