Pilates Ladder Barrel
Pilates Ladder Barrel
The Pilates ladder barrel pairs a padded barrel with ladder rungs on a connected base, used for spinal extension, side bending and stretch work that mat equipment cannot support. This collection covers full-size ladder barrels from BASI Systems, Elina Pilates and Align Pilates, plus the smaller barrel pieces that share the job.
How to choose a ladder barrel
Three full-size builds lead the collection. The BASI Systems Ladder Barrel matches the wooden construction of the rest of the BASI line. Elina Pilates makes its ELITE ladder barrel in two versions, one on a wooden base and one on a steel base, so it can match the rest of your equipment. Align Pilates' Ladder Barrel RC rounds out the field.
The smaller pieces cover much of the repertoire at lower height and price. Align's Modular Step Barrel and Arc splits barrel work into a portable two-piece set, and the BASI Arm Chair Barrel Set pairs barrels with the classical arm chair, which also puts it in our Pilates chairs. If floor space rules, a spine corrector is the compact alternative.
Warranty and delivery
BASI Systems covers wooden structural components for 10 years, Elina Pilates covers frame components for life with 2 years on the rest, and Align Pilates covers wooden equipment for 5 years. Free curbside freight within the continental US; per-brand terms in the warranty and returns policy.
Frequently asked questions
What is a ladder barrel used for?
Stretch, extension and strength work over a high padded barrel, with the ladder rungs as hand and foot anchors. It is the apparatus for movements that need the body supported in an arc, which is why classical studios treat it as standard equipment alongside the reformer and cadillac.
Ladder barrel or spine corrector?
The ladder barrel offers the taller arc, the rungs and the widest barrel repertoire; the spine corrector covers floor-level extension and articulation in a piece light enough to store anywhere. With space and budget, the ladder barrel does more; the corrector is the honest compact entry.
How much space does a ladder barrel need?
A fraction of a reformer's footprint, plus working room on the open sides for the legs and trunk to extend. Exact dimensions are on each product page, and we will confirm any missing measurement with the manufacturer before you order.
